A child’s life is a story just beginning. You can help write a happy ending by providing a loving home. Children typically enter foster care because of abuse, neglect, or dependency. Mecklenburg County strives to ensure all children have a safe and loving place to lay their heads.

The primary goal is to reunify children with their biological family. If reunification is not possible or in the child’s best interest, the court may consider alternative permanency plans, such as adoption, guardianship, or placement with a relative.
